Uiseong-gun’s slogan for the 21st century, “Fantastic Living, Uiseong,” stands for the county’s commitment to forward thinking and aspirations to become the center of Gyeongsangbuk-do. The “ㅅ” is a portal into the new millennium (“ㅅ” is the first syllable for “new millennium” in Korean).
green It represents agriculture, an industry tied directly to human lives, and at the same time symbolizes Uiseong’s pristine environment.
red The symbol is also tied to fruits and vegetables Uiseong-gun is famous for, including apples and peppers, and the passion of locals who work together to build a better Uiseong.

The Grey Heron is an auspicious bird that symbolizes abundance, and it is also considered a dignified and peaceful animal, making it the perfect symbol for Uiseong-gun.
